Six Independent Protagonists in a Yokai-Infested Genroku Era
The game unfolds during the Genroku era, a period depicted as overrun by yokai and supernatural spirits. According to H2 Interactive, players follow six distinct protagonists, each possessing individual backgrounds and motivations. Every character’s narrative plays out independently, allowing players to explore a stylized Japanese-inspired world centered on sword-fighting action and expanded gameplay features.
Ougi Sword Arts, Blacksmithing, and Amulet Crafting
Combat revolves around executing powerful strikes, wide-area attacks, and ranged maneuvers using special sword arts known as “Ougi,” which can be triggered with a single button. According to H2 Interactive, chaining normal attacks maintains offensive momentum, while combining dashes and jumps enables aerial and ground-based combat engagements. Players can also deflect enemy strikes or parry incoming projectile attacks.
To strengthen characters, players utilize a blacksmithing system to forge new blades imbued with distinct Ougi skills. Players can acquire skills through training and craft protective amulets that alter character appearance and weapon performance. Forging and upgrading gear requires souls collected from defeated enemies during exploration. Acquired Ougi skills mount onto three ground slots and three aerial slots, with repeated use increasing skill mastery and combat effectiveness.
Travel Activities, Replay Modes, and In-Game Compendium
Beyond combat encounters, the title features travel activities including hot springs, dining establishments, fishing, and transit via palanquins. According to H2 Interactive, the package includes an in-game compendium displaying illustrations, character animations, and background details, alongside a replay mode allowing players to review previously completed story events.
