Each year, thousands of visitors, sometimes from far away, dwell in the bastide of Monflanquin and its decorations medieval. For their 27th edition, Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August, the Medieval will be held under the theme of “the revolt of The Kings”. Visitors will therefore have the right to a trip back in time, in the direction of the years 1330 and the beginning of the Hundred Years war. At this time, relations were strained between the king of France Philip VI of Valois and Edward III, king of England, who fought over the territory of Guyenne. The event will be opened by a large medieval banquet Sunday, from 20: 30. Over a hundred actors and street performers will create an atmosphere picturesque with the costumes more true-to-nature, like every year. For 10 euros (5 euros for kids), festival-goers will be able to rent one on the spot. Of the many parades and events are planned, beginning at 10 o’clock in the morning until the dark of the night. Troubadours, acrobats, jugglers will emerge from every street corner. Birds of prey, snakes and horses will impress the crowd.

The best of pottery contemporary with Saint-Avit
The works of the ceramists deemed to be exposed to sale, on Sunday, in the medieval hamlet. Visitors will discover a wide range of what is done today in turning, shaping or sculpturing the earth and then cooking according to a variety of techniques. At the same time, at the musée Bernard Palissy, two artists of international renown, Claude Champy and Jean-François Fouilhoux expose incredible céladons. Has Tonneins, the cars of the collection are output
As every August 15, the park of Vénès will host, on Tuesday, a gathering of old vehicles. In the program, the traditional mass, from 10 a.m., followed by the blessing of all vehicles, be it two-wheels, or cars, or even agricultural machinery. At 21 hours, the concours of elegance will reward the cars and their drivers, all dressed in period costumes. Finally, the day will end with a grand fireworks display at 23 hours.

The Côtes de Duras blow out 80 candles
In 1937, the vineyard of Côtes de Duras obtained its appellation of controlled origin. Eighty years later, the winemakers duraquois have decided to mark the occasion. We will put the small bottles in the big, Sunday, in the grounds of the castle, for the traditional wine Festival. Some 150 references of red, rosé, dry white and sweet white will agitate the taste buds (in moderation). The culmination will be a flight of hot air balloons (as a function of time) to 19: 30.
