Kevin Harvick comes through again, wins at Kansas to proceed to Chase&#39s 3rd round

Race results:

At Nh, the race after Chicago, Harvick passed Matt Kenseth around the race’s final restart and brought the race’s final six laps for that win, which moved him to the second round. The win being a bigger factor when Harvick were built with a track bar issue the next week at Dover.

Oh, and also at Dover in 2015, Harvick needed victory to succeed towards the second round. He only brought 355 laps on the way to the win an additional-place finish within the Chase. Yeah, this really is becoming a pattern.

Both Edwards and Harvick remained on the race’s final caution flag and Edwards find the high line. Harvick had the greater restart inside lane and pulled from Edwards, who’d to deal with teammate Kyle Busch on fresher tires.

Harvick’s 38th-place finish at Charlotte now meant he joined Sunday’s race last within the Chase standings and eight points from the top eight (who advance towards the third round). It had been a far more dire scenario than he faced following the first race from the first round after finishing 20th at Chicago.

“He didn’t possess a vehicle [behind] as near to him, and that i could break that draft before I acquired to the center of [turns 1 and a pair of] and escape from him, to ensure that was pretty awesome,” Harvick stated. “I just needed to choose and that’s truly the mindset we get into every race within the Chase was to choose, so we did.”
