The previous U.S. Women’s Open champion believes she got a bit of best of luck from Nature earlier within the week.
Cristie Kerr were built with a career weekend on Oahu in Hawaii, capping off a barnstorming final two models to win the LPGA’s Lotte Championship at Ko Olina Club.
After shooting a back-nine 29 to complete off a 62 in Friday’s third round, Kerr shot 6-under 66 in Saturday to place away the 72-hole event by three shots over Lydia Ko, In-Gee Chun and Su-Yeon Jang having a tournament-record total of 20-under 268.
Kerr may be the second American to win around the LPGA Tour this season, as Brittany Lincicome won the growing season-opener within the Bahamas.
“I didn’t even consider it until once i shot 10-under (Friday) that turtles work great luck for me personally. They probably always will be. I went swimming using the turtles on Friday mid-day and that i unintentionally touched one,” she stated. “The patrols are available so you don’t harm them, however it type of swam at i and me touched it, also it really was, great luck.”
The win is Kerr’s 19th around the LPGA, and it is her first since using the 2015 season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
