The QLINE opened up to great fanfare on May 12. Loudspeakers in a grand opening ceremony celebrated the return of streetcars towards the Motor City the very first time in decades.

The QLINE operates on a 3.3-mile route along Woodward Avenue, connecting Detroit’s downtown, Midtown, New Center and North Finish areas. Including roadwork, the work cost about $180 million to construct and it was funded with a mixture of private, philanthropic and public monies.
